Hanging Flower Basket

This is a really simple hanging basket and makes a beautiful piece of wall decor! I have a lot of floral stems that I have collected over the past year and was so excited to use them! The shallow basket is one that I got from the dollar Target section. It was originally $5 and was 50% off with the Christmas items.

Supplies Needed:

  • Shallow Basket
  • Artificial Flowers of your choosing
  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
  • Wire Cutters

Instructions:

There are many ways that you could create a floral basket. I chose to keep it simple and just use hot glue.

To attach the flowers I cut the stems off as close to the flower as I could. Then I put hot glue on the basket and attached the flowers. I first did a layer of larger flowers to cover the basket.

Once the first layer of flowers were glued down I started to add another layer of flowers. I added smaller sunflowers, a little bit of greenery, and dandelion flowers. I love the look of the different layers of flowers. I would have liked to add more sunflowers but I wanted to use what I had on hand.

Once I was finished with the basket I hung it on the wall. I just used a nail and rested the basket grooves on the nail.

I love how this turned out! I think this would also be beautiful with just greenery! Hope you give this a try!

Cutting Board Makeover

Crafting with cutting boards is so fun and there are so many things you can do with them! I wanted to make this cutting board into a wall hanging. I got this cutting board from Home Goods.

I wanted to use this left over jean pocket as a way to create a bouquet on the cutting board. You can decorate the pocket however you want or leave it plain.

I wanted to use these pins to hold down the pocket but the wood made the pins bend. So I pre-nailed holes that were a similar size to the pins and then was able to use to pins to hold the pocket. Once the pin was stuck in the wood I did lightly tap them with a hammer to secure them.

Then I put in harvest leaves and flowers to create the wall hanging.

I put the artificial wheat and other leaves in the back and the rest of the flowers in the front. Would love to see how you get creative with cutting boards!

Cork & Flower Craft

Supplies Needed:

  • Corks, I bought mine from Hobby Lobby
  • Awl or something to make a hole in the top of the cork for the flower to sit in
  • Artificial Flowers
  • Hot Glue Gun & Sticks
  • Wood Shadow Box

Instructions

I have been so excited to use this wooden frame. I previously stained it with a dark wood stain from Hobby Lobby. I started by making a hole at the top of the cork that was big enough for the flower stems to sit in. I just put one flower per cork.

Once all the corks had a a flower in them, I started hot gluing the corks to the wood frame.

This was such a unique and fun craft!! I hope you give this a try!

Ocean Themed Hanger

Supplies Needed:

  • Clay
  • Silicone Mold
  • Paint
  • Wreath
  • Artificial Flowers
  • Floral Wire
  • Ribbon
  • Wire Cutters
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Instructions:

This is a fun project to do! This was my first time using air hardening clay. I molded the clay with silicone molds. After the clay hardened I painted the clay with acrylic and textured paint.

You can wrap the artificial flowers around the wreath and used floral wire to secure it.

Once the wreath is wrapped with flowers you can then hot glue the clay to the wreath for decoration. I also decided to add a small clothes pin to the top of the wreath to add notes or pictures.
